What is ICAT?

Who Are We?
The Idaho Center for Advanced Technology (ICAT) serves as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) school for the Nampa School District. Its programs are located within the district’s three comprehensive high schools, with students traveling from their home schools for either a single class period or two class periods, depending on their chosen course. CTE classes provide hands-on learning experiences that equip students with in-demand workplace skills. The curriculum is designed to help students earn industry certifications, transition smoothly to postsecondary technical colleges, or gain employment-ready skills. Key elements of a strong CTE program include maintaining an active industry advisory board, providing state-of-the-art equipment and industry-aligned curriculum, and supporting CTE student organizations. These organizations offer leadership development opportunities and competitions where students can showcase their technical skills.

What We Offer?
ICAT offers 27 diverse career pathways, including Business, Agriculture, Family and Consumer Science, Health Professions, Welding, Auto Mechanics, and Engineering. Data consistently shows that students enrolled in these programs achieve higher graduation rates, positive job placement, and increased postsecondary enrollment. Additionally, students can earn industry certifications and SkillStack® Badges—a microcredential system that enables Idaho educators to verify students' proficiency in industry-relevant skills through digital badges. Students also have the opportunity to earn a CTE Diploma, further enhancing their career readiness.
